The Fisher Wallace Stimulator® is a medical device that has been cleared by the FDA to treat anxiety, depression and/or insomnia. Patients treating anxiety and/or depression should use the device twice a day for 20 minutes - once in the morning after waking up, and once again before going to bed. Patients treating only insomnia may use the device for 20 minutes before going to bed. Fisher Wallace performed three large scale, randomized, controlled clinical trials during the pandemic - these are currently being prepared for scientific journal publication.

Previously, the device was studied in multiple, small-subject clinical trials, including a successful pilot study for the treatment of bipolar II depression at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital (see published article here). The device does not cause any serious side effects; rare minor side effects of temporary headache or dizziness may occur. The device should NOT be used by patients who have implanted electronic devices such as a pacemaker or deep brain stimulator.

Our Version 2 device is currently being developed for commercialization in early 2022. It will feature the same neurostimulation as Version 1 but in a new, wireless form factor designed by Eric Fields (recipient of two Red Dot Awards for his design of Beats and Nest products) and a new mobile app for tracking symptoms and cognitive performance. It will also have a new brand name.
